The Chinese-Belarusian Great Stone Industrial Park is the first in Belarus to receive Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS) certification from the European Union for its pattern of ecological protection. This was announced to BELTA by Kirill Koroteev, the First Deputy Direction General of Industrial Park Development Company, CJSC.
“For the first time in Belarus the EMAS certificate has been received for exemplary environmental protection. This certification is considered one of the most progressive management systems based on the principle of sustainable development,” said Kirill Koroteev.
The main goal of EMAS is to make environmental protection more effective and to encourage sustainable improvement of the environmental performance of companies. Certification is voluntary and builds a positive image of companies in demonstrating their awareness of the importance of environmental protection.
