On July 31, 2020, an investment conference "From Recovery to Sustainable Growth" was held, organized by the National Agency for Investment and Privatization with the support of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD).
The conference brought together about 400 participants from 40 countries. State representatives, heads of large foreign companies and international experts examined investment opportunities in Belarus with an eye to the potential of the EAEU markets and discussed current and future challenges in attracting investment, as well as possible effective tools to overcome them.
Within the framework of the conference, a plenary session was held, at which representatives of the Belarusian government, the Eurasian Economic Commission, UNCTAD, the Executive Committee of the World Economic Forum discussed the priorities of investment policy in the post-pandemic era.
Panel discussions were also held on attracting investment to the Belarusian economy, investment prospects in the Eurasian Economic Union and investment in the Great Stone Industrial Park. The topics of the most popular areas of investment activity in the Park amid a pandemic, as well as the support measures that investors receive in the Park to overcome the current challenges of the economy, aroused the greatest interest for discussion.
During the conference, a round table for investment professionals was also held, where representatives of the Park shared with colleagues their successful experience and modern tools for attracting residents during and after the pandemic.
